Our “fresh magnet set” at the Asheville City Market today was garlic. All of the planted cloves turned to bulbs and are now curing in the shed… we’ve eaten a couple, and they’re fantastic.
When I was rooting around Honour’s computer to find the garlic images, I ran across some of the little rooster pics. It’s the same bird as in the picture in the post linked to above. The recipe came together pretty well.

Hi, found your site while looking for asheville city chickens. Would you post some pics of how you are keeping your chickens in your backyard, I am getting some soon and looking for inspiration in the coop and run layout. thanks!

Thanks for checking out our site. We originally went with an extra fancy Eglu coop from Omelet, which you can check out here: http://www.omlet.us/
We really like the design of the coop, the integrated run, and the ease of cleaning BUT it is expensive. In retrospect we probably would not have forked out so much cash.
The hens really aren’t picky and will be happy in just about anything so long as stays somewhat cool in the summer and not too cold in the winter.
We’ve built another pen around the Eglu that is probably something like 15′x30′ with chicken wire and metal ‘T’ fence posts from Lowe’s.
