Hi, Kim.
Thanks for checking out our site. We originally went with an extra fancy Eglu coop from Omelet, which you can check out here: http://www.omlet.us/
We really like the design of the coop, the integrated run, and the ease of cleaning BUT it is expensive. In retrospect we probably would not have forked out so much cash.
The hens really aren't picky and will be happy in just about anything so long as stays somewhat cool in the summer and not too cold in the winter.
We've built another pen around the Eglu that is probably something like 15'x30' with chicken wire and metal 'T' fence posts from Lowe's.
Some friends of ours recently constructed a 'chicken tractor' and it turned out nicely. This link should give you an idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZPBW56F23M
You can purchase plans online.
I don't have pictures of our setup handy right now... if you happen to be at the Asheville City Market sometime, stop by and I'd be happy to talk with ya in more detail about our backyard chickens. We're usually right next to Hickory Nut Gap farm and across from the Coffee Caravan... we might take this Saturday off so we'll be back there July 12th.
